Rhode Island couple didn’t let blizzard stop them from getting married

Sally Faulkner and Adam Irujo tied the knot in snow boots, surrounded by friends and family in puffer jackets and knit scarves.

Saturday’s storm left much of New England with plenty of snowed-in cars and cold, wet socks. But for one Rhode Island couple, the blizzard of 2022 wasn’t going to stop them from having the happiest day of their lives.

For Sally Faulkner, walking down the aisle wasn’t as easy as most brides make it out to be. She was walking through large piles of snow outside of the Providence Public Library, with snow boots to match, WPRI reported. The cold didn’t seem to bother her at all as her now-husband Adam Irujo waited for her at the top of the stairs.

In an interview with WPRI, Faulkner explained why keeping the date was important to the couple.

“We have a few cutting boards with that date on it, a couple of mugs and a marriage license with it on it,” Faulkner said.

“So today is the day … 1/29!” said Irujo.

Cheers from their friends and family, all suited up in puffers, gloves, and scarves, filled up the icy streets as the couple said “I do.”

Their indoor ceremony has been rescheduled for Sunday, when all the couple’s friends and family from all over the country will be in attendance.
