Declan Rice has named two Manchester City players as some of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
City have been dominant in the league so far this season and currently have a nine-point advantage over second-placed Liverpool heading into the weekend’s fixtures.
Despite his links with a move to Manchester United, Rice did not hesitate to name Bernardo Silva and Rodri as two of the best he has come up against.
Speaking to BT Sport about Silva, the 23-year-old said: “He is so, so good.
“For someone that’s so small, he has got a tenacious side to him which is incredible. The way he presses, the way he defends for his team and then with the ball as well he is just like a magician.
“He will keep the ball on his left side, find passes, one-twos, constant moving.”
“I speak to the England boys when I go away and they all say that Bernardo is one of the best players they have ever played with,” Rice added.
“To be fair, when I have played against Bernardo Silva I have always come away like: ‘He is a special, special player’.”
When asked for his next pick, Rice was quick to reply: “I am going to have to go Rodri.
“I think the way he is to that Man City side, great player, he is obviously an out-and-out holding midfielder but how he is on the ball shows that Spanish side of him by just keeping hold of the ball.
“He constantly knows his next pass and I feel like since he has come to the Premier League, it took him a little time to adapt, but now he is a real top player and when he plays for City he is crucial for them.”
Manchester City return to action in the Premier League on Saturday when they host Tottenham Hotspur in the teatime kick-off.
