Kambole was handed a rare start against Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend after being sidelined for almost the whole campaign.

And Kambole was clearly out of depth as he struggled to impose himself in the game and make his presence felt in the final third.

Having just scored twice in 44 appearances for Chiefs, Kambole has been deemed a ‘flop’ by the club fans who feel he contributed nothing to the team.

Now, Zwane was asked why Kambole has struggled at Chiefs despite coming in highly-rated from Zambian giants ZESCO United three years ago.

And the coach gave an in-depth answer, suggesting that Chiefs failed Kambole by signing him and not knowing how to use the attacker.

The 48-year-old former Amakhosi star, said that on its own is a lesson that players should, from now on, know how and why the club is signing them so that they can enjoy their football at Naturena.

Zwane added that Mamelodi Sundowns are the perfect example of that, saying whoever joins them, even if from the so-called smaller clubs, improves at Chloorkop.

ZWANE TOUCHES ON KAMBOLE’S STRUGGLES AT KAIZER CHIEFS

“One of the mistakes that we’ve done as a club is bringing in players and not knowing how to use them,” Zwane told journalists.

“All the players that should join Kaizer Chiefs now, should know how, why we’re bringing them to the club and should know how we play them to their strength so that they can also enjoy their football.”

“That’s what a team like Mamelodi Sundowns is doing, they check their players – whether they get a player from Black Leopards or whether they get a player from Cape Town City, as soon as they join Sundowns you can see they improve, because the technical staff there, they’ve got special roles, who understand their roles individually and they’ve been doing very well.”
