Body of missing 11-year-old girl found dumped in field in the Northern Cape



The body of 11-year-old Relebogile Segami, who was reported missing, was discovered dumped in the veld on Thursday evening.

THE GIRL WAS MURDERED BEFORE ANYONE COULD FIND HER

According to police spokesperson Captain Olebogeng Tawana, the adorable Segami was reported missing was last seen on Wednesday, 30 March 2022

“Relebogile Segami(11) was last seen on Wednesday, 30 March 2022 at approximately 08h00 when she left her home in Latlhi Mabilo Street, Galeshewe, with her friends.”

SHE WAS LAST SEEN ALIVE ON WEDNESDAY

Tawana said the girl never returned home.

“According to the report her friends left her in the vicinity of Kagisho area. She was wearing a black short top and grey shorts.”

But sadly, she was murdered before anyone could find her.

A 24-YEAR-OLD MAN WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH MURDER

“The body of 11-year-old Relebogile Segami, who was reported missing, was discovered dumped in the veld behind the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature building.

“The discovery was made at approximately 17h50 during an intensive multi-disciplinary search by the Galeshewe FCS unit, Kimberley K9 unit, Galeshewe Visible police, and Kimberley Search and Rescue Team,” Tawana said.

He furthermore said a 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged with the murder of Segami. He is expected to appear in the Galeshewe Magistrate’s Court soon.

  • THERE IS NO WAITING PERIOD TO REPORT A MISSING PERSON!

Report a missing person at your nearest police station immediately.

  • Produce a recent photograph of the missing person, if possible.
  • Give a complete description of the missing person’s last whereabouts, clothes that they were wearing, as well as any information that can assist the investigating officer.
  • Complete and sign a SAPS 55(A) form. This form safeguards the SAPS from hoax reports and indemnifies the SAPS to distribute the photograph and information of the missing person.
  • Obtain the investigating officer’s contact details, and send any additional information that might become available.
  • If a missing person is found or returns voluntarily, inform the investigating officer immediately. A SAPS 92 form must be completed to inform the Bureau of Missing Persons that the missing person’s report can be removed from the circulation system.
